Participation in Diwali festival 200 kilometers away from Uttarakhand
Nauharadhar. People of Kunen village of Uttarakhand reached Ranwa, the ancestral village of their elders after about 500 years, on the occasion of Diwali. The villagers gave a grand welcome to the people of the community who reached Ranwa village from about 200 kilometers away. During Diwali, a confluence of the wonderful cultures of Uttarakhand and Himachal was seen in Ranwa village. People were overwhelmed with joy after seeing the culture of the two states.
People thoroughly enjoyed the culture of both the states. People like Narendra Rana, Kripal Rana, Shyam Singh Rana and Narayan Singh Rana, who reached Ranwa village, told that about 500 years ago their ancestors had migrated from Ranwa village near Haripurdhar in Sirmaur district to Kunen village in Uttarakhand. Ever since the ancestors left this village.
Since then no one from the village could come here. The people of Ranwa village had come to his village about two years ago. He had invited him to visit his ancestral village. He was also very eager to visit his native village, so he decided to visit his native village on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. People coming from Kunen village said that they were very happy after seeing the culture here. He did not feel as if he had come to some other state 200 kilometers away.
He felt as if he was in his own village. Narendra Rana, resident of Kunen (Sainj) village and currently chairman of Chakrata block, said that the culture of Sirmaur and Jaunsar Babar is similar. The costumes and food are also similar. There is definitely a slight difference in language. Enjoyed the culture of the village by dancing and singing with the people on Diwali festival.
