Patwari held taking bribe

A team of the HP State Vigilance (HPSV) and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mandi, arrested a patwari red-handed while accepting bribe today. The team members apprehended Rajesh Kumar of Gudah Kadhidhar patwar circle in Mandi district. Bhag Chand, a peon at Government Senior Secondary School, Churag, had filed a complaint alleging that Rajesh Kumar had demanded Rs 10,000 for expediting revenue-related works.

The complainant alleged that the patwari insisted on the immediate payment of Rs 3,000. Acting swiftly, the team laid a trap and caught Rajesh Kumar red-handed with the marked money. A case has been registered.
