People took shelter in government shelter home in severe cold
Kanpur: Cold wave is increasing in most parts of North India, Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh is experiencing bone-chilling cold. With a significant drop in the temperature, destitute people and morning commuters were seen huddling around bonfires to escape the cold. A local person who took shelter in the Municipal Corporation’s night shelter said that it was very cold.
Blankets are being provided occasionally but not to all. Meanwhile, cold increased its grip in the national capital on Tuesday, with Palam recording a minimum temperature of 10.8 degrees Celsius. As Delhi’s morning turned cold, Mr Krishna, who has been accustomed to strolling near India Gate for the last 50 years, said the prevailing cold coupled with fog and pollution was adding to the woes of the locals.
