Petition regarding irregularities in SI recruitment rejected by High Court
Bilaspur: The High Court has rejected the interim application of the petitioners on the petition filed regarding irregularities in recruitment to other posts including SI-Platoon Commander in the state. In the case, 122 petitions filed by 700 contestants were heard simultaneously. The state government has submitted its reply in a closed envelope.
Actually, Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board had issued advertisement on 13 September 2021 for recruitment to 971 posts including Sub Inspector, Subedar, Platoon Commander, Sub Inspector (Radio), Sub Inspector (Computer) and others. The examination was conducted on 29 January 2023 in Ambikapur, Durg, Jagdalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur. After the release of the results of the written examination, the candidates filed a petition in the High Court on the basis of irregularities.
The High Court had not given transferred relief during the earlier hearing, but had directed the state government to investigate the irregularities and submit a report. During the hearing of the case, the High Court, citing the decision of the Supreme Court, said that a special leave petition was filed by the petitioners before the Supreme Court, which has already been rejected by the Supreme Court vide order dated September 1, 2023. . Therefore, now there is no need to pass any order banning the recruitment process.
