Photo of polling personnel trapped in Naxal area goes viral
Narayanpur. The team that had set out to conduct voting in Narayanpur is stuck in the Naxal area. Due to security reasons, the polling parties have not been able to return yet. After searching by the security forces, they will be returned once the road is opened. At present, the polling personnel are still in the camp even after 24 hours of voting. They have sent emotional messages by writing on the placard… When will you come, eyes watching. From this it can be understood, what they are going through. Most of them are teachers.
Eight polling parties had gone to conduct elections in Orchha tehsil of Narayanpur district. 24 polling personnel from eight polling parties, one cameraman and three observers are stranded in Orchha. All of them were brought to Orchha through two helicopters (total 36 polling personnel) for voting. They have been accommodated in the new building of Eklavya Residential School behind Orchha Tehsil Office. From where polling parties were on duty to conduct voting in various polling stations. Out of which 7 parties had to conduct voting in Orchha and surrounding areas only. A polling team had to go to Naxal-affected village Gudari, four kilometers from Orchha, to conduct voting. There were three polling personnel and the presiding officer in this polling party.
