Pickup vehicle overturned, people looted
BANKA : At around 4 am in the morning in Banka, Bihar, a pickup laden with bananas overturned on the middle of the road. After this, a crowd of villagers gathered to loot the bananas. When the police reached the spot, only a few bananas were left in the car. The matter is of Amarpur Bank main road near English Mod Chowk. According to eyewitnesses, there was a head-on collision between a truck laden with bananas and a pickup. After the collision, the pickup driver overturned in the middle of the road, due to which the pickup driver Vikas Yadav and his assistant Indradev Yadav were injured. Both the victims were taken to a private clinic for first aid.
The incident happened on Saturday morning. After the incident, there was a competition for bananas, which led to traffic jam. Traffic was disrupted for about an hour. Seeing the jam situation, Inspector Vibhash Kumar and police officers present at the spot brought JCB and removed the pickup from the road. After this, vehicular movement could start. The injured driver told that he was going to Sultanganj from Karimpur in West Bengal loaded with bananas. Meanwhile, a sand truck coming from the front at high speed hit him. A cart placed on the roadside was also damaged due to the overturning of the pickup truck. Inspector Vibhash Kumar of Amarpur police station said that the incident took place at four in the morning.
“A vehicle loaded with bananas was coming from Poonsia side and a truck was coming from Banka side. Due to the collision, a pickup vehicle laden with bananas overturned, in which the driver and the passenger were injured. The truck driver fled away with the truck.
