Jaipur. A day before voting in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday posted a video of former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot on the social media platform. In this video, Pilot is appealing to the people to forget the old issues and make all the Congress candidates win. This development has happened at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made a direct attack on Congress accusing it of insulting Gujjars a day earlier.
Voting is to be held on Saturday for 199 out of 200 assembly seats in the state, where a direct contest is expected between the ruling Congress and the main opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While sharing a 1.51 minute video of Pilot on his social media platforms X, Facebook and Instagram, Gehlot wrote, “Congress youth leader Sachin Pilot ji appeals to the people of Rajasthan to vote for Congress.”

In the video, Pilot is appealing to the people to vote for Congress, saying that it is clear from the voters’ feedback, public reaction and inclination that Congress is going to form the government in the coming time. He has appealed to the people to make all the Congress candidates win with an overwhelming majority.
In the video, he can be heard saying, “In the last few weeks, we all went to different places to campaign for the party. Looking at the response, feedback received and the inclination of the voters, it is clear that in the coming time, the government is going to be formed by the Congress party. He said, “The tradition of 30 years is that BJP will be there for five years, BJP will be there for five years.” Congress; There will be a change in that custom and once again everyone will give their blessings to the Congress Party.
According to Pilot, “Hundreds of meetings were held for the election campaign but there are some areas where we could not reach even if we wanted to. Therefore, I have a humble appeal to you that in order to maintain the pace of development of the state and to maintain the Congress’s policy of taking everyone along, it is necessary that we forget all the things and press the button on the ‘hand’ symbol. Give Vijayashree to all the Congress candidates with an overwhelming majority.
Pilot said, “I want to appeal to you that all of you should bless your respective Congress candidates in all the assembly constituencies.” He appealed to the people to make the Congress candidates victorious by voting in large numbers on November 25.
He said, “This victory will be the victory of the Congress, it will be the victory of the people and in the coming time, we will not let the BJP’s idea of stopping the schemes which we have started after the formation of the Congress government succeed.” Voting for 199 out of 200 assembly seats will be held on November 25 and counting of votes will take place on December 3. Election on Karanpur seat has been postponed due to the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kunnar. This is probably the first time in the last five years that Gehlot has shared a video of a pilot in this way on social media.
It is noteworthy that on Thursday, on the last day of election campaign, Prime Minister Modi accused Congress of insulting Gujjars. Referring to Sachin Pilot at a rally in Devgarh, Rajsamand, Modi said, “…a son of the Gurjar community struggles to make a place in politics. He sacrifices his life for the party and after getting power, at the instigation of the ‘royal family’, he is thrown away like a fly in milk.
Pilot, who comes from the Gurjar community, was the state president of Congress in 2018. The tussle between Pilot and Gehlot over the post of Chief Minister started after the party got majority in the assembly elections. The party high command made Gehlot the Chief Minister while Pilot was given the post of Deputy Chief Minister. After rebelling against Gehlot’s leadership in July 2020, Pilot was removed from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and State President.
It is a different matter that before this assembly elections, the party said that ‘everything is fine’ and both the leaders also said that the things of the past should be forgotten. The Gurjar community has influence in the districts of eastern Rajasthan where Congress won most of the seats in the last assembly elections.
