Pin powered humanoid AI to replace smartphones
Humane, an AI company founded by former Apple engineers Imran Chaudhry and Bethany Bongiorno, has launched a new wearable product called Humane AI Pin. This small, lightweight wearable device can be pinned to the wearer’s clothing. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Microsoft’s AI models, the device is equipped with AI tools and a variety of features.
It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, it includes essential sensors like camera, microphone and accelerometer. This device does not have a touch screen, it has a built-in projector that will display information on surfaces. The device can be activated via voice, touch, gesture or laser ink display.
The small, square-shaped device aims to provide users with a suite of Open AI and AI tools powered by Microsoft. With this you will not need to search and download apps manually. The PIN boots the Cosmos operating system, which is specifically designed to automatically direct user inquiries to the relevant tools.
With this PIN, users just need to talk or touch the PIN and tell what they want and it will provide the desired operation.
The price of AI Pin is $699. In addition to the cost of the device, Humane subscription requires a $24 monthly fee. This subscription will give users access to T-Mobile’s network and a phone number. It consists of a small square device and a battery pack that can be magnetically attached to surfaces or clothing.
It consists of a small projector that can beam text and laser ink icons onto the user’s palm in place of a screen. The device can be activated using voice, touch, gesture or a laser ink display. Using the touchpad, one can manually activate the device by tapping and dragging. To notify users when data is being collected, the “trust light” blinks.
The Humane AI Pin will be available in three colours: Eclipse, Equinox and Lunar. The company has revealed that deliveries of the product will begin in early 2024 and preorders will begin from November 16.
