Piyush Goyal alleges irregularities in Jal Jeevan Project
Tamil Nadu: Union Minister and BJP election in-charge Piyush Goyal said that irregularities in contracts for the central government’s Jal Jeevan project in Tamil Nadu will be investigated.
Speaking to reporters at Kamalalayam, the BJP headquarters in Chennai on Monday, he said: “Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has criticized me for my comments on the financial condition of the Tamil Nadu government. I have degrees in audit and law. Based on that, I am investigating and bringing out the truth.”
The DMK government led by M.K. Stalin has failed in Tamil Nadu. Mafias like liquor and sand smuggling are influential. There are also irregularities in the purchase of medicines. The future of youth has been ruined due to drug addiction. The DMK has not fulfilled 75% of its promises. Because people are unhappy with the DMK government, the National Democratic Alliance will win, and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami will become Chief Minister.
Under a central government scheme, funds were provided to build free houses for 900,000 people in Tamil Nadu. However, the DMK government has built only 600,000 houses. The Chief Minister should explain what happened to the funds for the remaining 300,000 houses.
Over the past 10 years, the BJP government at the center has provided additional funds to Tamil Nadu. The BJP government at the center has provided more funds to Tamil Nadu than the previous Congress government. The central government’s grant funding has been increased from ₹57,000 crore to ₹2.50 lakh crore. However, the DMK government has not even built infrastructure in Tamil Nadu.
It has come to light that irregularities occurred in the central government’s ‘Jal Jeevan’ project contract in Tamil Nadu. Anyone involved in this misconduct will be prosecuted.
Chief Minister Stalin’s repeated assertion that Hindi is being imposed is incorrect. It is the parents’ choice which language their children choose. He stated that the central government wants to improve children’s mental abilities. Earlier, Piyush Goyal hoisted the party flag at Kamalalayam on the occasion of BJP Foundation Day.
