Place marked for inauguration of Shri Mandir Parikrama Project Yagya
Puri: The place for the yagya has been identified during the inauguration of the Puri Shrimandir Parikrama project, Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Ranjan Kumar Das said today. Speaking to media persons today, SJTA Chief Administrator informed that since the Shrimandir Parikrama Prakalp will be inaugurated on January 17, 2024, the location for the yagya was identified today.
A special team comprising management committee members, the temple priest and several others identified the yagya site, he said, adding that the place was located at the north-eastern corner of the Vaishnav temple. He further said that the Ankurarpan ritual will start on January 12, while on January 15, Yagya (havan) will be conducted at 7 am and Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb will offer Purnahuti in the Yagya in the form of Kart. While Vedapath (recitation of the four Vedas) will be performed at the four gates of the 12th century temple, several sadhus will perform Akhand Sankirtan for 24 hours.
