Plants Worth Rs 9 Cr Destroyed In Odisha’s Gajapati
Paralakhemundi: Illegally grown cannabis plants were destroyed in a huge area in Mohana area of Gajapati district of Odisha on Thursday. Sources said that Madad cultivation was destroyed in a joint operation of police and excise department.
According to initial estimates, the market value of the destroyed cannabis plants has been estimated at around Rs 9 crore.
This action was taken after receiving information about illegal tree plantation in Bom village of Juka Panchayat under Mohana police limits. The joint team destroyed about 90 thousand ganja plants planted on 45 acres of land. Plants were set on fire.
It is noteworthy that police and excise department personnel conduct such joint operations every year. His teams conduct raids and destroy hemp cultivation on hectares of land.
