PM Modi: meditated and prayed with japa mala at Vivekananda Rock Memorial
A new video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was released on Saturday on the second and final day of meditation at Kanyakumari. Dressed in a saffron dhoti-kurta and dupatta, the Prime Minister was seen praying with his japa mala. During sunrise at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Modi also performed Surya Arghya, a spiritual act involving salutations to God. The PM poured some water from a traditional, beaker-like vessel into the sea as an arghya and prayed with japa mala. Modi also offered floral tributes to the statue of Swami Vivekananda. He walked around the mandapam with japa mala in his hands. Kanyakumari is famous for its sunrise and sunset and the memorial is located on a small island near the shoreline. The Prime Minister began meditating at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the evening of May 30 and is scheduled to complete it on Saturday evening.
