PM Modi said, Congress’ slogan is ‘pockets are clean and work is half’, VIDEO

Sidhi: During an election rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at the Congress party, criticizing their slogan, “the poor’s pocket is clean and the work is half done.”

Prime Minister Modi pointed out that for several decades, Congress had a prominent presence in the country, governing from the grassroots to the national level. However, today, their influence has waned, with their governance remaining in only a few states. He attributed their decline to the slogan that portrayed the “poor’s pockets as clean and the work as half done.”

In reference to Congress, Prime Minister Modi stated that once Congress lost power in a state, it was often challenging for them to regain entry. He noted that the people of Madhya Pradesh are now expressing a strong connection with him, and he with them. Prior to his tenure, Congress had governed at the national level for a decade, a period marked by allegations of corruption and a lack of significant progress. In contrast, Prime Minister Modi highlighted his government’s dedicated efforts, especially in providing permanent housing to poor families across the nation through the PM Awas Yojana, with an expenditure of Rs 4 lakh crore.

Prime Minister Modi also critiqued Congress for its preference for individuals who frequented the corridors of power in Delhi, neglecting the talented leadership from the OBC, SC, and ST communities. He considered this as emblematic of a “courtly mentality” and highlighted the abusive language directed at him, which, in turn, extended to the entire OBC community.

Commenting on the current state of the Congress, he emphasized that once they lost influence in a state, regaining it was a formidable challenge. Even in Madhya Pradesh, Congress had been striving for a majority for over two decades. Prime Minister Modi underscored that most of the beneficiaries of BJP government schemes were Dalit, backward, and tribal families.

He observed that during Congress’s prolonged rule, Dalit and tribal communities endured challenging living conditions. He highlighted the positive impact of schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, which significantly benefited poor and Dalit communities. The government diligently executed the BJP’s promises, including the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which had already transferred Rs 2 lakh 60 thousand crores directly into farmers’ accounts, including those in Madhya Pradesh.
