PM Narendra Modi to lay foundation stone of International cricket stadium in Varanasi today
Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone of Varanasi’s International Cricket stadium today. In his parliamentary constituency, PM Modi will also be seen addressing a rally of women supporters and will also speak on the women’s reservation bill recently cleared by the parliament.
The event will also focus on the inauguration of 16 newly built Atal Residential Schools in the city. As per reports from reliable sources, Prime Minister narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive by air at 1:30 pm.
According to Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma, PM Modi will start by laying the foundation stone of the International cricket stadium in Ganjari. Subsequently, he will address a rally of over 5000 women at the Sampuranand Sanskrit University. Therein, he will be speaking on ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023.’
Following this, PM Modi will visit the Rudraksh Centre to inaugurate the 16 newly constructed Atal Residential schools. Well known faces from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) are expected to attend the event. These include President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, and Secretary Jay Shah.
From what reliable reports tell us, the International cricket stadium in Varanasi will be built on a land worth Rs 121 crore. The Uttar Pradesh Government has reportedly allocated a whopping amount og Rs 330 crore for the construction of the stadium.
The stadium is to have a seating capacity of nearly 30,000 audience. The stadium will also feature unique design elements like crescent-shaped roof covers, trident shaped floodlights, and structures resembling traditional ‘bel’ leaves and ‘damru.’
Varanasi is going to become the third city of Uttar Pradesh to have international cricket stadiums after Lucknow and Kanpur.
