Police arrested Deputy Sarpanch and his brother on charges of fish theft
Korba: Police arrested Gram Panchayat Rajaama Deputy Sarpanch Kamal Yadav and his brother Ramesh Yadav on charges of fish theft from Khamgada reservoir and presented them before the court on Monday. The court has sent them to jail. Chairman of Tribal Fishermen Cooperative Societies of Khamgada Reservoir Project, Gupab Pankra, Vice President Shankar Yadav had caught Gram Panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Kamal Yadav and his brother Ramesh Yadav red handed with fish from the reservoir. A written complaint was lodged at Kotba post demanding action.
Regarding the matter, the outpost in-charge took action against the accused Deputy Sarpanch Kamal Yadav and Ramesh Yadav under Section 151,107,116,(3) and arrested them and presented them in the court. Outpost in-charge Narayan Sahu said that separate complaints were received against the Deputy Sarpanch and his brother. The committee alleged that even after the lease period has ended, fish is being stolen from the reservoir.
