Police arrested the absconding prisoner after 31 hours

Kanker. A prisoner had escaped by dodging the policemen while entering the jail from the court. Which has been arrested by the police from Gadhiya Pahar of Kanker after 31 hours. While going to jail from the court, the prisoner ran away and was hiding in the Garhiya mountain. The undertrial prisoner was produced in the Kanker District Court on Thursday. Where the prisoner escaped by dodging the policemen in front of the jail in the evening while returning from the court. It was raining heavily in the evening, the prisoner took advantage of that. The prisoner’s name was Mohnish Kodopi, who was an undertrial in a rape case.

TI Sharad Dubey told that “On the information of the residents of the locality, the police have caught the absconding undertrial prisoner from the mountain while entering the jail. A crime is registered against the absconding prisoner in Kanker police station. The police are continuously raiding his house and other possible targets.” The police team searched for him on the mountain from where he was recovered.” Kanker Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel has taken cognizance of the absconding case of undertrial prisoner accused of rape. The SP has suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector Hirauram Markam, Head Constable Sudarshan Marai, Head Constable Ramkhilavan Mandavi, Constable Bharat Sahu, Omprakash engaged in security.
