Police arrested two smugglers with 51 bottles of illegal liquor
Raipur. Raipur’s Kharora police station has arrested two coachmen with 51 paua country liquor. In fact, on July 29, the team of police station Kharora received information that two persons riding in a two-wheeler near the village panchayat located in village Saragaon under police station Kharora area, have kept liquor with them and are looking for a customer for sale. On which, under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of station in-charge Kharora, the team of police station Kharora went to the said place and identified two-wheelers and persons of Husia told by the informer.
During interrogation, the persons told their names to be Khodas Verma and Krishna Kumar Sahu resident of Kharora. When the team members searched the bag kept with them, the bag was found to contain liquor. On demanding valid documents from both the accused in relation to keeping/selling liquor, the team members were being continuously misled by them by not presenting any document of any kind. On which the members of the team arrested both the accused and kept illegally from their possession a total of 51 pints of country liquor, sale amount of Rs.660/- and the two-wheeler used in the incident number CG/04/MF/4858 Jumla worth about 40,000/- After seizing the money, action was taken against the accused by registering crime number 522/23 under section 34(2) of the Excise Act in police station Kharora.
