Police caught taking bribe in Banarpal police station
Angul: In a shameful incident, a policeman has been caught taking bribe at Banarpal police station in Angul district of Odisha. A police officer has been caught on audio demanding a bribe to dismiss a case and release him on bail.
Let us further tell you that accused Abhimanyu Sahu had also sent money through a person. But the police officer said that the matter will be closed after the police officer pays 50 percent of the total amount demanded. The SP said that a forensic investigation will be conducted into the case of the audio tape going viral. For this, a team has been formed under the leadership of SDPO. SP Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra said that if the police officer is found guilty of taking bribe, strict action will be taken.
Another case of police atrocities on local people has come to light in Odisha’s Bhadrak district as they tried to stop an accident-prone truck. According to reports, four people were injured in police atrocities in Bhadrak. There was a clash between the police and the common people to stop the sand laden truck which caused the accident. The incident took place at Bonth Chowk in Bhadrak.
During no entry, a truck laden with sand hit a school student and ran away in Srivantpur, while the local people stopped the truck at Bonth Chakka. Police reached the spot, seized the truck, stopped it and interrogated the driver. This led to a clash between the local people and the police. It appears that the police chased the people away and beat up four of them.
