Police checked on National Highway, Jupiter rider caught with ganja

Balod: SP has given important instructions to prevent smuggling of illegal drug Ganja. In this series, the team of Purur police station was successful in arresting 02 accused who were transporting illegal drug Ganja.

Information was received from the informer that two persons in a blue colored TVS Jupiter Scooty number CG-17 KR-7089 were going from Kondagaon towards Raipur via Keshkal, Kanker with illegal drug marijuana, village Purur. Checking of vehicles coming and going near Rani Durgavati Chowk Tiraha NH 30 road was being done, after some time as per the information of the informer, a blue colored TVS Jupiter Scooty number CG-17-KR-7089 arrived. Which was stopped by Issar. When asked about his name and address, he gave vague answers and when strictly interrogated, the person driving the scooter gave his name as Mohd. Saqib Khan, father Mohd. Shabbir Khan, caste, Muslim, age 21 years, resident of Jankipuram, Akansha Complex, Lucknow, police station Jankipuram, District Lucknow (UP) and the owner of the scooty. The person sitting behind told his name Mohd. Dilshad, father, Sabit Ali, caste, Muslim, age 23 years, resident of Sonbarsa, Kohdaur, Pratapgarh police station, Kohdaur district, Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh) and a black red bag kept in his possession contained intoxicant ganja, which was known as Umerkot. From Orissa, it was told to take it to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh for sale, after which due process was searched and 04 packets of intoxicating substance Ganja, total weight 08 kg, worth Rs 80,000/- were found wrapped with khaki colored tape inside the bag. Action was taken against the accused under Section 20 (b) NDPS Act and 08 kg of intoxicating substance Ganja and the vehicle used in the incident were seized. And the accused were sent to jail on judicial remand.
