Police detained five including college student

Chennai: Kodungaiyur police have detained five youths, including two college students, on suspicion of importing painkiller pills from another state.

Police sources said that the courier firm manager had alerted the police about a suspicious parcel found at the hub.

The police had earlier met all the courier firm representatives and advised them to report the suspicious parcels to the police as it was found that drug smugglers were using this route.

Upon opening the parcel, police found 500 Topcinta tablets, used for pain relief. After this, the police called the person given at the address of the receiver and through him, four other people have been detained and are being interrogated.
