Police dug out the dead body from the grave and were forced to investigate
Fatehpur: In Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, a mother kept wandering for two and a half years to know the secret of her daughter’s death. Two and a half years after her daughter’s death, the body of the woman’s daughter was exhumed on Sunday on the orders of the DM. The family members of the deceased had accused her in-laws of dowry death. On the complaint of the mother of the deceased woman, the police had registered a case of dowry death against four people including her husband.
Actually, Tufail Ahmed, resident of Muttaur village of Lalauli police station area, was married to Rahisha, resident of Bhauri village of Raipura police station of Chitrakoot district on 15 December 2013. Rahisha died under suspicious circumstances on 26 March 2021. The husband had buried the body in the graveyard located in Muttaur without informing the parents and the police, saying that he had died due to illness.
When the family members got information about the daughter’s death, there was panic. After this, the deceased’s mother, Imamun’s wife, Haleem Qureshi, had given a complaint letter to the Women’s Commission, accusing her of strangulating her daughter Rahisha to death and burying her body for dowry. On June 21, 2022, he had filed a case against son-in-law Tufail Qureshi, step-daughter Anisha, Mohammad Irfan, Munni alias Sommati.
On this matter, Tehsildar Sadar Evendra Kumar said that in the presence of outstanding Tehsildar Arvind Kumar and the forensic team, after digging in the cemetery, the body of a woman was taken out from the grave and sent for post-mortem. The victim’s mother had expressed suspicion of murder of her daughter. The body was taken out for investigation. Police say that further action will be taken only after the PM report comes.
