Police raid on betting, bookie arrested
Balod: Police has taken action against betting going on in village Ghina of Suregaon area. Police received information that the accused Mohit Kumar Sahu, resident of Bharnabhat police station, Deori, village Gheena, is writing Satta Patti illegally secretly. On information, a raid was conducted in village Ghina. In village Ghina, the accused Mohit Kumar Sahu, father Santuram Sahu, age 33 years, was gambling by writing Satta Patti in a common place by Sakin Bharnabhat Chowki Pinkapar Police Station Deori District Balod and he was caught red-handed. Rs 10710 in cash and dab pen, 02 nos. were found in the possession of the accused. Betting bar and motorcycle Hero Honda number CG 08 H 2767 were seized and action has been taken against the accused under Section 6 Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022. Since the case is a non-bailable offence, the accused has been produced in the court of JMFC Dondilohara on judicial remand.
In the same village Bhimkanhar, across the pond, gamblers Bhagwat Raote, Girwar Gore, Neeraj Kumar, all residents of Bhimkanhar, who were gambling with 52-card playing cards and betting on winning, cordoned off the Bhimkanhar police station and caught them red handed. An amount of Rs 1020 and 52 playing cards were seized and action has been taken against the gamblers under Section 3(2) Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022.
