Police raid on bookies’ den, three arrested
Balod: Police raided the bookies’ den and arrested three people. According to the information, the police received information from the informer that a person named Vinod Sonkar is betting money near Nadia Para Gunderdehi Chowk and writing a betting book. On the information, the accused Vinod Sonkar, father Late Sitaram Sonkar, age 40 years, address Ward No. 5 Gunderdehi. Rs 3510 in cash, 01 piece of dot pen and betting strip were recovered from the possession of the accused who was surrounded and caught. On which crime number 357/2023 section – section 6 of Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 has been registered in Gunderdehi police station and the accused is being sent on judicial remand.
Second case – An unknown person is betting money at a common place in village Guredha and is writing a betting slip. On the information, the accused Bhuneshwar Dewangan, father Balram Dewangan, age 32 years, address, village Guredha police station Gunderdehi, was surrounded and caught and Rs 9300 from the possession of the accused. Cash, 01 piece dot pen, betting strip were recovered. On which crime number 358/2023 section – section 6 of Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 has been registered in Gunderdehi police station and the accused is being sent on judicial remand.
Third case – Ward No. 9 Sanjay Nagar Gunderdehi by an unknown person in a common place and writing a betting slip. On the information, the accused Mohsin Qureshi, father Sheikh Rauf Qureshi, age 32 years, address, Ward No. 9, Gunderdehi, was surrounded and caught. Rs 9700 in cash, 01 piece of dot pen and betting strip were recovered from the possession. On which crime number 359/2023 section – section 6 of Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 has been registered in Gunderdehi police station and the accused is being sent on judicial remand. A total of Rs 22,510 in cash and a betting slip of transactions worth lakhs of rupees have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Balod Police’s action against those involved in illegal business will continue.
