Police rescued more than 100 girls, exposed ‘wrongdoing’ in hotel and spa center
Surat: Gujarat’s Surat Police has raided 602 hotels and spa centers within a week. After this action, 16 cases of human trafficking have been registered. At the same time, names of 188 hotel-spa centers which did not follow the rules have also come to light. An officer said that the first ones on the police radar were such hotel-spas which were close to schools or colleges. After this action, licenses of many hotels and spa centers will be cancelled.
According to the report of ‘Desh Gujarat’, the police action against the ‘sex market’ going on in the hotel-spa of Surat has been going on for several weeks. A total of 62 cases have been registered so far. The police have arrested 90 accused doing illegal work. ‘Sex business’ was being run illegally in these hotels and massage parlors. Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar said that this year 197 girls involved in illegal prostitution activities were taken out. These include 52 foreign girls.
