Police sent summons to actor Suresh Gopi
Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Police on Wednesday summoned the actor to the Nadakavu police station in Kozhikode after a female journalist lodged a complaint of “inappropriate touching” against Malayalam superstar and BJP leader Suresh Gopi. While talking to the media on October 27, Gopi placed his hand on the journalist’s shoulder and answered his questions. Following the incident, journalist organizations protested against Gopi’s “inappropriate” behavior and demanded an apology. The next day Gopi apologized. However, some journalists and the youth wing of CPI(M) again raised the issue, leading to a heated debate on social media, following which a journalist filed a complaint against the actor. Gopi will almost certainly contest the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket.
