Police will patrol in plain clothes to crack down on drunkards
Bhubaneswar: In a targeted initiative against public intoxication, the Commissionerate police in Bhubaneswar will commence undercover patrols to apprehend individuals causing disturbances while under the influence of alcohol, announced DCP Prateek Singh.
DCP Prateek Singh emphasized that individuals creating disturbances in an inebriated state will be detained by the police, and appropriate action will be taken against those contributing to noise pollution.
The DCP further disclosed that police officers in plain clothes, in collaboration with PCR vans, will conduct patrols throughout the city. Nighttime checks and blockades will be implemented at various locations.
To ensure preparedness for potential incidents during Diwali celebrations, a specialized team has been established under the guidance of the Additional DCP. The police have also communicated with firefighters and hospital staff to ensure swift responses in case of accidents.
DCP Prateek Singh extended wishes for a joyful and secure Diwali celebration, stating, “May the festival of lights bring joy, but let no one be sad.”
