Policeman attacked in train, accused dies while trying to escape
UP. In Kanpur countryside, a youth stabbed a constable during a dispute in a moving train. After the attack, the accused jumped down and died after being hit by another train. The injured constable has been admitted to the hospital in Saifai. Constable Amit Kumar, posted at Musanagar police station, was going from Rura to Mathura by Unchahar Express on Friday evening after being dispatched for verification of criminals released from jail.
Between Jhinjhak-Kanchausi station, he got into an argument with passengers going to Chandigarh. The youths started beating him. A man attacked Amit with a knife. On hearing the passengers shout, the attacker jumped off the moving train. During this, he came under the grip of Dehradun Express coming from the down line and died on the spot.
According to Inspector Mangalpur, an Aadhar card in the name of Ramzan son of Abdul Rehman resident of Panchkula Haryana was found near the deceased. Rohit of Fatehpur was also injured in the attack. According to SP BBGTS Murthy, the matter has come to notice. On the other hand, Ramzan’s friend Aman and a minor involved in the attack were arrested by the police from Phaphund station.
