Poll Code: Another case against Kaushik Reddy

Karimnagar: Another case registered against the newly elected MLA of Huzurabad, Padi Kaushik Reddy, of BRS, for violating the model code of conduct (MCC) during the counting of votes on December 3. The case was registered in the police commissariat of two cities in Karimnagar. On Monday, a complaint was filed by the police chief of the Bonala commissariat Anji Reddy.

The police chief said that when the police fulfilled their duty in the control center established in SRR Degree and PG College in the city of Karimnagar, Kaushik Reddy, along with his followers in large numbers, gathered at the center and violated the electoral code.

When the police agents tried to disperse the meeting because Section 144 was in force in and around the center of the protest, Kaushik Reddy refused to leave the place and started attacking the police personnel abusing them using obscene language. They also threatened with disastrous consequences, he said.

The police registered the case against the MLA and his followers under sections 188, 353, 290 and 506 of the IPC. Earlier, the police had registered a case against Kaushik for his threat of suicide to the voters during the electoral campaign.
