Pongal special buses will be operated from tomorrow
Chennai: Ahead of the Pongal holidays, special buses for local people will be operated from tomorrow. A total of 4,706 special buses will be operated from Chennai to TN districts and 8,478 special buses will be operated from other districts.
According to the transport department’s notification, buses leaving for other districts will operate from six points including Koyambedu, Tambaram and Madhavaram. Similarly, State Express Transport Corporation buses will leave for Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Karur, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi from the newly-inaugurated Kilambakkam Bus Terminal. Special buses will continue to run on January 16, 17 and 18 also.
