Poonch: Several landmines explode amid forest fire near LoC

Mendhar/Jammu: Forest fires in Balakot and Mendhar areas of Jammu and Kachemira raged for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, leading to explosions in several underground mines along the Line of Control, officials said.

He said, a forest fire near the Line of Control in the hilly area of Poonch district is increasing.

Officials said that after the forest fire, several underground mines exploded in Mendhar sector.

He said Army and forest department personnel along with the local population participated in controlling the fire.
