Poor beneficiaries will be able to do Griha Pravesh on Diwali day

Durg. 2056 families will be benefited under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). Beneficiaries will celebrate Griha Pravesh Utsav on Diwali. 165 families in Durg, 1240 in Dhamdha and 621 in Patan will get housing under the scheme. Beneficiaries are very excited to enter their own pucca houses. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) has been helpful in providing affordable housing to lakhs of people across Chhattisgarh. Here is a typical success story of a beneficiary. The residence of beneficiary Shri Domar Sahu, father Shri Prem Sahu and his family of Kodiya, a small village in Janpad Panchayat Durg of Durg district. Till a few years ago, they lived in a dilapidated mud house, which had very little protection from the elements and water leaked from the roof during rainy days, due to which the family had to face a lot of struggle. Shri Domar Sahu used to work as a daily wage laborer for a living and struggled to arrange a proper house for his family. When Domar heard about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he decided to apply.

The financial assistance provided by the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) enabled Domar Sahu to build a permanent home for his family. The new home had proper walls, a roof that did not leak, and basic amenities like electricity and water connections. This not only improved their living conditions but also gave them a sense of security and dignity. Now today, the beneficiary is doing his Griha Pravesh on Diwali.
