Post office work affected, employees on strike

Dhamtari. The postal department employees working in rural areas have stopped work and started a strike. Due to the closure of postal employees, the work of distribution and accounting of letters has started getting affected. The angry employees demand that they are not getting the benefits of the recommendations of Kamlesh Chandra Committee which should be given.

Angry employees demonstrated at the main post office of Dhamtari and asked the government to fulfill their seven-point demands. The striking employees say that their agitation will continue until their demands are met. Due to the employees’ agitation, letters are not being distributed to villages.

Angry employees say that the same rules which have been in place since the British era are being followed even today. Temporary employees are being made to do more work instead of 8 hours of duty.
