Pregnant woman dies due to negligence of hospital management, creates uproar

Mungeli. Collector Rahul Dev has given instructions to form an investigation team in connection with the death of a pregnant woman during treatment at Anya Hospital located in Lormi. The Collector has written a letter to the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Mungeli directing him to form a team. He has asked to completely investigate the matter and submit a detailed report including the cause of death. It is noteworthy that Sharda Rajput’s husband Durgesh Rajput, a resident of village Salhaiya Chainki Junapara, was admitted to Anya Hospital in Lormi for delivery on the night of 27 October. But he died during the operation. The family members had accused the hospital management of negligence during treatment and carrying out the operation in the absence of an gynecologist. The family members had also alleged that the concerned hospital was operating without registration under the Nursing Home Act. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Collector has immediately asked the CMHO to form an investigation team and submit a detailed report.
