President Murmu reached Kanyakumari as part of a six-day southern visit
Chennai| President Draupadi Murmu, who is on a six-day tour of Kerala, Lakshadweep and Tamil Nadu, reached Kanyakumari on Saturday. Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Minister Mano Thangaraj, District Collector Sridhar and other officials received him at the airport.
The President was warmly welcomed at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, where she will spend time in the Meditation Hall. She will also visit the iconic Tiruvallur statue and return to Thiruvananthapuram in a helicopter.
There is heavy security in Kanyakumari and traffic has been diverted near Beach Road at several places in the district.
