President Murmu will reach Tamil Nadu today on a three-day visit
Chennai (IANS). President Draupadi Murmu will leave for a three-day visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Saturday. President Murmu will reach Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and interact with the mahouts there.
She will also meet Bomman and Bailey the mahout couple who acted in the Oscar winning documentary, ‘Elephant Whispers’ at Theppakadu Elephant Camp.
All roads leading to Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and Theppakadu Elephant Camp and other camps will be completely under the control of the State Police.
The police have directed all hotels and resorts to evacuate occupants and not provide any rooms till the completion of the President’s visit.
The President will reach Chennai from Nilgiris by late evening and will stay at Raj Bhavan in Guindy.
She will attend the convocation ceremony of Anna University on Sunday.
President Murmu will also interact with Particularly Backward Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Raj Bhavan on the same day.
After this conversation, she will also meet some celebrities at Raj Bhavan. On Sunday evening, the President will unveil a portrait of Tamil poet Subramaniam Bharathi and rename the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan as Bharathiar Hall and participate in cultural programs in the hall.
The President will leave for Puducherry on Monday and attend programs at Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville Mitramandir and return home the same evening.
