Ingredients for making puffed rice upma
4 green chillies
curry leaves
1 onion
2 teaspoons grated carrots
1 teaspoon finely chopped coriander
2 spoon peanuts
2 cups puffed rice
1 whole red chilli
1 teaspoon coconut flakes or shredded coconut
1 garlic clove
one fourth black salt
half teaspoon turmeric
3 spoons gram dal
Oil
method of making
- To make puffed rice upma, first soak the puffed rice in water for 1 minute.
- After this, squeeze it out of the water and put it in a plate.
Now add 1 whole red chilli, 1 spoon coconut shavings, 1 clove of garlic, one fourth black salt and 3 spoons gram dal in the mixer and grind it.
Now take a pan or kadai and add 3 spoons of oil in it. - Add onion and gram dal and fry.
Now add curry leaves and green chillies to it. - Mix half teaspoon turmeric in it. Add peanuts and carrots to it and mix. Fry it for 3 minutes.
Now finally add puffed rice, coriander leaves and black salt. Add the powder prepared by grinding it in a mixer and mix it.
Here, puffed rice upma is ready.
