Punjab: Dead bodies and dead fish found floating in the canal
Punjab: According to sources, not only contaminated water is flowing in the Ganga canal originating from Punjab, but a large number of dead animal carcasses also keep floating. A member of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti said that a large number of dead goats, chickens and fish were seen floating on the bridge near the main branch of the Ganga canal in Sri Ganganagar. Many people made videos and uploaded them on social media. BJP leader Rajat Swami said that the videos have been sent to the District Collector and the Superintending Engineer of the Water Resources Department. He said that along with dead animals, the canal water is also smelling bad. It was highlighted that the canal water is being used for drinking purposes in many villages and towns of the district. Some activists said that a dharna will be held outside Nehru Park in Sri Ganganagar on December 3 from 11 am to 3 pm to show solidarity with the Zahar Se Mukti Abhiyan.
