Punjab: Police increased security for Republic Day

Punjab: Ahead of the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Kapurthala Police led by DIG Harmanbir Singh Gill IPS has beefed up security across the district. Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav IPS, DIG Gill today reviewed the security arrangements in the district to ensure smooth and safe celebration of the national festival.

SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Tura IPS highlighted the increased use of technology by the district police to enhance security. Surveillance has been strengthened by installing Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras and additional static CCTV cameras with an aim to keep an eye on anti-social activities and ensure preventive policing. He appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or object to the 112 helpline. He assured the residents of the police force’s commitment to their safety and wished the community a Happy Republic Day.
