Punjab: Two pistols and magazines recovered near the international border

Punjab: When a suspected packet was seized in Chak 11 FA village yesterday, police officials broke the silence and confirmed that two pistols and seven cartridges were filled in the parcel found near the Indo-Pakistan border. Surinder Prajapat of Sriganganagar Police Sriganganagar Police said that Rakshawinder Kumar, Inspector of Border Outpost Sheikhasarpal, today handed him the seized packet. BSF jawans feared that the packet was dropped from the drone. Police said that when the packet was opened in the presence of BSF personnel, two pistols and magazines were recovered from it. One magazine had three cartridges and the other had four cartridges. The G-Branch of the 77th Corps carried out a search operation in the periphery of Chak 11 FA village and seized a yellow packet, weighing around 2 kg. Security agencies had speculated that the packet could have banned goods, but had only two weapons. Sources said that on October 17, a similar packet was found in a field near SN Jain BOP and 2.15 kg of heroin was recovered from it. On October 6, 2.79 kg of heroin was seized in Chak 17-S. border village.
