Punjab: Vernacular editor attacked

Punjab: The editor of a vernacular newspaper was attacked by some miscreants who came in three vehicles this evening. Manu Pratap Yadav, the editor of a vernacular newspaper, was attacked with sticks by unidentified men who came in three vehicles and stopped Yadav’s car near the Improvement Trust Office at around 6.45 pm. Yadav was hit multiple times on both his legs, leaving him seriously injured.

An eyewitness said that the attackers were in three vehicles, including a black SUV. Police said that the miscreants tried to pull Yadav out of the car. However, they failed, as the car was centrally locked. They broke the windows with sticks and pulled him out and beat him. In the incident, Yadav suffered fractures in both his legs. Police said that a case will be registered after receiving the medical legal report.
