Purab Kohli was hesitant about signing ‘Hip Hip Hurray’, reveals actor
Mumbai (IANS). Actor Purab Kohli, who made his debut with the 1998 TV show ‘Hip Hip Hurray’, says he was very confused before doing the show and didn’t want to do it.
Purab’s journey in the entertainment industry has been commendable. From TV shows to VJ, films and now OTT, he has proved his mettle on all platforms.
The actor, who is now settled in London, talked about his experience of 25 years.
Talking about what he has enjoyed the most while working in the last 25 years, he said, “I have enjoyed all the experiences because every job I have done I wanted to do. Hip Hurray’. I was very skeptical about being a part of a TV show. I wanted to become a pilot then. But when I went for an audition and found my co-actors there, I saw that They were all young like me and that’s when I realized it would be fun to do that show and that’s why I took up the project.”
“From there, we were sent to Channel V to audition and I was selected to be their VJ. I enjoyed that role for 8 years. At that time everyone had a perception that VJs cannot act and I I did some good films. So I have enjoyed whatever I have done in my career so far.”
The actor was last seen in the film ‘Blind’, which premiered on Jio Cinema on 7 July.
The film also starred Sonam Kapoor and Vinay Pathak.
