Purvanchal is creating new dimensions of development in seven years

Lucknow: The political apathy that came after independence continuously reduced the shine of development from Purvanchal. It seems as if the sun is setting, but the development in this area in the last seven years has given hope. Purvanchal has now started moving forward with development. The days of sugar mills being closed one by one are over, the Gorakhpur fertilizer factory which was closed in 1990 has also started functioning. Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) and Noida were established simultaneously with the same objective, but there was a huge difference in the development of both, which has now started to be filled. Senior political analyst Girish Pandey says that a lot has changed during the seven years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As an MP, he had conceptualized what he thought about the development of Purvanchal by considering Gorakhpur as the centre. By making it come true, he proved that he has the imagination as well as the ability to make it come true. Due to continuous changes, the stain of backwardness has started disappearing from the forehead of Purvanchal. He said that with the strengthening of infrastructure, rejuvenation of health and medical sector, creation of education sector hub and industrial environment, Eastern Uttar Pradesh is now keeping pace with Western UP in every field. The network of six and four lane roads including Purvanchal Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, Ballia Link Expressway has made this backward area directly and easily accessible to the capital of the state and the country. The government has also improved the air connectivity of this area from floor to level. The dream of having an international airport in Kushinagar and an airport in Azamgarh came true. Senior political analyst Amodkant Mishra says that the health services in eastern Uttar Pradesh were in bad condition. Encephalitis, which struck in 1978, started killing thousands of children every year. Due to the burden of patients and lack of resources, the only treatment center, BRD Medical College of Gorakhpur itself had fallen ill. Apart from encephalitis, the orgy of diseases like dengue, kala-azar, cholera was different. This trend continued till 2016, but in the last seven years, there was not only a radical change in the health and medical sector, but this area itself started developing as a medical hub. There is a lot going on in this area right now. The government has controlled this disease by 95 percent by setting up encephalitis treatment centers at the PHC level. The burden on BRD Medical College has also reduced. Now a facility like Super Specialty Block is available here. Every district has been blessed with a medical college. Most of them have also started serving patients. Patients are getting complete treatment from these medical colleges. Due to availability of large number of MBBS seats, youth have also got a great career option. AIIMS established in Gorakhpur is proving to be a lifeline for crores of people from entire eastern Uttar Pradesh as well as Bihar and Nepal. He said that the economy of Purvanchal is completely based on agriculture. Due to the abundant cultivation of sugarcane here, it was called the sugar bowl. But, due to the negligence of the rulers, sugar mills started closing one by one. Yogi government not only opened hi-tech sugar mills at Munderwa in Basti district and Pipraich in Gorakhpur, but also expanded the capacity of Azamgarh sugar mill. The mills of Pipraich and Munderwa produce sulphurless sugar and are also self-sufficient in power generation from cogen plants. In the interest of farmers, a new factory with double the capacity has been started in Gorakhpur in place of the fertilizer factory that was closed for decades. The biggest problem of farmers has been irrigation. For this, Saryu Canal National Project has been dedicated to the farmers of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Due to availability of adequate electricity, the irrigation crisis has ended even in those areas where one has to depend on private tube wells. In Azamgarh, a university has been built in the name of Maharaja Suheldev. Gorakhpur has received the unimaginable gift of Sainik School and State Institute of Hotel Management. The first AYUSH University of the state has also been established in Gorakhpur of Purvanchal. Now the youth of Eastern Uttar Pradesh no longer need to go out for studies.
