‘Question for money’ scandal created a stir in national politics
Kolkata: Efforts are going on in full swing to oust him from Parliament. Meanwhile, the ‘question for money’ scandal has created a stir in national politics. But Chief Minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee was standing next to the party’s Krishnanagar MP Mahua Maitra at the special session of the Trinamool Congress at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on Thursday.
Earlier, after the decision of the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha against Mahua, Trinamool’s All India General Secretary Abhishek Bandyopadhyay had stood with the party MPs. Even her importance in the team has increased a lot, then on Thursday she herself stood in favor of Trinamool supremo Mahua. On this day, the Chief Minister said, “And this government has three months. Will expel Mahua! What will happen if you become MP for three months? Earlier Mahua used to speak inside the Parliament, now he will speak outside.” Taking a dig at the ruling party at the Centre, the Bengal Chief Minister said, “Who does this three months before the elections unless he is a fool.”
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had complained against Mahua Maitra in the ‘Cash for Quarry’ case. He alleged that Mahua Maitra took bribe from industrialist Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament. After the Hindenburg incident, Mahua had raised many questions in the Parliament regarding industrialist Gautam Adani. And for all those questions, businessman Hiranandani gave money to Mahua. Hiranandani also accepted this. After this, the Ethics Committee of the Parliament, after two rounds of hearing, demanded the dismissal of Mahua from the post of MP and a CBI investigation against him. Also requested.
A few days ago, after standing with Mahua Maitra, the party had given the responsibility of organizational district president to Abhishek Banerjee. Then it was understood that no matter how much silence Trinamool Congress maintains on Mahua, the party is in its favor. On this day Mamta clearly said that she is with Mahua. The Chief Minister said that day at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, “He thought that he would expel Mahua from the party. And there are still three months left. What he said inside Parliament, he will say outside the press conference every day from now on.” “It is clear from this that Trinamool leaders are in his favor.
