Rahul Gandhi bought a pair of special breed dogs from Goa
Panaji (IANS). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday bought four-month-old Jack Russell Terriers (male-female pair) from Goa-based firm ‘Shades Kennel’.
Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Goa on Wednesday night, visited the ‘Sheds Kennel’ at Mapusa in the northern district and bought two puppies. Sources said that Rahul Gandhi specially came to Goa to buy these dogs.
Speaking to IANS, Sharwani Pitre of ‘Sheds Kennel’ said that Rahul Gandhi’s office had called her to inquire about the dogs. On Thursday he suddenly came and took the dogs with him.
He told that we have introduced this breed of dog in India. Bollywood stars have also shopped from him. Wherever there are dogs of this breed in India, we have supplied them. It is a hunting breed and also intelligent.
The Jack Russell Terrier has a unique record, it is extremely popular in Great Britain. It was bred mainly to hunt rats. Its weight is about 4 to 7 kg and height is about 25 cm.
One of the senior Congress leaders considered close to Rahul Gandhi told that he loves pets. He used to spend some time with her during his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
