Rahul Gandhi hit back at PM Modi’s statement, said- We are India, will fix Manipur
New Delhi (IANS). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling India the East India Company and said he will fix Manipur and rebuild the idea of India.
Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Call us whatever you want Modi ji. We are India. We will help heal Manipur, wipe the tears of every woman and child. We will bring back love and peace to all people. We will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur.
Rahul Gandhi’s remarks came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during the BJP parliamentary party meeting that the East India Company and the Indian National Congress were created by the British.
Speaking to the media after the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that while addressing the MPs at the meeting, the Prime Minister had said that the name India is a strange coincidence.
Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Prime Minister Modi also said that the East India Company and the Indian National Congress were created by the British. The Prime Minister said that Indian Mujahideen was founded by terrorists and organizations like Popular Front of India were also founded in India.
Regarding the opposition alliance ‘India’, the senior BJP leader said that in the meeting the Prime Minister said that he has not seen such a “directionless” opposition till date.
