Railway GM visits Raipur Division
Bilaspur: General Manager of South East Central Railway Neenu Itiera inspected PP Yard and Electric Loco Shed, Bhilai of Raipur Railway Division. It is known that Bhilai has got the distinction of maintaining high capacity twin loco for the first time in Indian Railways.
The General Manager inspected the Wagon Park located in PP Yard Bhilai, which is built for the training of new employee apprentice crew-guards. He saw the models of the components of the wagon, coupling and uncoupling process and observed the changes taking place in the braking system, center buffer coupling (CBC), and air brake system. Also, inspected the wheel shop, where the wheels of the wagon and the reasons for their failure are examined.
In the Electric Loco Shed, the General Manager observed the inspection process of the traction motor and hotel load converter. It is worth mentioning that Bhilai Loco Shed has got the honor of maintaining twin loco, which is twice as capable as other electric locos. Along with this, the General Manager inspected the metallurgical lab built for testing coolant oil, rubber equipment and grease used in the operation of the loco. General Manager Itiera also appreciated the work of women employees who are performing technical responsibilities like welder, turner, machinist very well. He enquired about the facilities available for women at the workplace and gifted them a special women’s room. He planted saplings towards environmental protection.
