LPG price hike: Leftists condemn

Tamil Nadu: Left parties have condemned the central BJP government’s increase in cooking gas cylinder prices.

P. Shanmugam (Marxist State Secretary): The central BJP government has increased the price of cooking gas cylinders by ₹60 across the country. This price hike has hit the poor and middle class. This price hike has increased the prices of food items manifold.

It is very bad that the central government has increased the price of cooking gas cylinders citing the Iran war situation. The central government should immediately withdraw this price hike.

M. Veerapandian (Communist Party of India State Secretary): The price of cooking gas cylinders will have the greatest impact on poor families. The increase in the price of cooking gas for commercial use will also increase the prices of food items sold in shops. This move by the central government is very bad. Steps should be taken to immediately withdraw this price hike.
