Rain In Odisha To Lash Across The State For Next 5 Days
Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours it has rained in most places and the maximum rainfall has been recorded in Keonjhar at 123 mm, said the MeT on Monday.
There will be light to moderate rains for the next five days, but the rains will decrease from tomorrow said the latest weather bulletin. There will be thunderstorms along the coastal areas of Odisha.
After July 11, the extent of rain will increase again. Puri will however have cloudy skies today with light to moderate rain. From June 1 till today, 26 percent rainfall has been recorded. As of now, 285.8 mm of rain was expected, but only 210.6 mm has been seen. This is said to be 26 percent less than normal.
The Bhubaneswar Meterological Centre had issued a yellow warning to two other districts Koraput and Malkangiri and is predicted that there will be heavy rain. A warning has been issued for heavy rain in three districts of South Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur today.
As the South-West Monsoon is active in the state, it will continue to rain in different parts of the state for the next five days. Yellow warning has been issued to 10 districts including Puri today for heavy rain. Malkangari, has received more than normal rainfall, while 11 districts have recorded normal and 16 districts have recorded below normal rainfall. The Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rainfall has been recorded in two districts, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
