Raipur police in search of youth leader Sarthak Sharma, rape attempt and pressure being made for forced marriage

Raipur. Youth Congress leader Sarthak Sharma has been accused of molesting, indecent behavior and threatening a young woman. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the accused under sections 78, 74 and 351 (3) of the Indian Penal Code and started searching for him. The case is of DD Nagar police station area.

According to the victim, she knew Sarthak Sharma since 2018. Being associated with Rawatpura Guru, he often visited her house and also developed close relations with the family. But after 2020, he stopped talking. Since then, the accused was constantly pressurizing her for marriage and was trying to forcefully have physical relations. The victim told that when she was returning from college, Sarthak forcefully held her hand and started touching her inappropriately. On protesting, he threatened that if she did not listen, he would not let her get married and would defame her in the society. Not only this, the accused also threatened to make her photo viral and kill her.

DD Nagar police station in-charge SN Singh said that an FIR has been registered on the basis of the girl’s complaint and the investigation is on. The police is searching for the accused and is likely to arrest him soon.
