Raipur: Two arrested including the main leader of the thief gang
Raipur. Two people including the main gang leader of the thieves gang have been arrested. Hanuman Prasad Dubey lodged a report in Civil Line Police Station that he lives in Shriram Heritage, Katora Talab Raipur. On 28.09.2024 at 11.00 am, he was going to work after locking his house, when he saw that the neighbour’s house was also locked. At 6.30 pm, his maid called and told him that my house is open, then when I came home and saw, the latch of the door of the house was broken and unknown thieves broke the locker of the iron cupboard kept in the house and stole cash worth Rs 1,82,000/-. Along with this, those thieves also broke the lock of the neighbour Suresh Bijlani’s house and stole gold, silver and diamond jewellery worth about Rs 3,50,000/-. On the report of the applicant, crime number 517/24 under sections 305, 331 (3), 3 (5) BNS was registered at Civil Line Police Station and investigation was taken up.
Under the direction of senior police officers, a joint team of Civil Line Police Station and ACCU started searching for the unknown accused by making detailed inquiries from the applicant and the people around about the incident. The team members examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed on the routes used by the accused and also deployed informers in the case to trace the unknown accused. Meanwhile, on analysis of footage by team members, they identified the scooty used by the accused in the incident and observed the footage of the routes used by the accused and got important information that the scooty was last seen in village Chhati, district Dhamtari. On this, team members caught Kiran Baban Patil and Sandeep Laxman Bhosale and strictly interrogated them about the incident. The accused accepted committing the theft.
The mastermind of the incident, Kiran Baban Patil, told during interrogation that he is a native of Kumathe Tasgaon, district Sangli, Pune, Maharashtra. Presently, he lives with his second wife in village Chhati, district Dhamtari since last month. He called his accomplices, who were in jail with him in theft cases, and conducted a recce in Kushabhau Thackeray Colony and Shriram Heritage of Raipur district. After which, he came back to village Chhati and made a plan to commit theft with Sandeep Bhosale and other companions and came to Raipur with the necessary goods and tools for theft and carried out the theft in both the places mentioned above. He told that he had sent some part of the stolen money and jewellery to Pune, Maharashtra to his companions for disposal and kept the rest of the goods and money hidden in his house in Chhati. On which, silver jewellery, cash and Tata Harrier car, scooty vehicle, iron knife, 01 pistol, 03 cartridges, 02 magazines, iron cutter and other tools used in the crime, total worth about Rs. 15 lakhs were seized from the possession of the accused and the accused were duly arrested and further action was taken.
